Season Premier Trial 2019

Karl Batschke
General Manager for Darwin Perennials

Here are some photos and musings about our trials featured in Miami, FL for the Costa Farms Season Premier...

Caryopteris Goldcrest was looking very nice. No burning.

Dianthus Mountain Frost™ Garnet Red was just starting to flower but you could see the rich, red color.

Digitalis Arctic Fox Rose has been in bloom for at least 6 weeks at this trial. Seems about 3 weeks earlier than the competing variety; a Digitalis right beside Arctic Fox Rose showed no signs of buds.

Our new Echinacea was in bloom. Sombrero® Tangerine Tango looked awesome!

Sedum rupestre Prima Angelina looked great in the beds.

Veronica Moody Blues® Dark Pink showed excellent color! The containers were just starting to flower.

The varieties above are all 2020 introductions about to debut at California Spring Trials. Be sure to register your visit if you’re planning to travel to the Ball stop in Santa Paula.

It looks like the Sombrero Series has another strong introduction with Tangerine Tango. Arctic Fox Rose Digitalis looks liek it has a longer shelf life than most digitalis in addition to early flowering!
