Darwin Colombia Achieves MPS-A

Mike Klopmeyer
Former Darwin Perennials General Manager

We are thrilled to announce that our Darwin Colombia unrooted cutting production farm has achieved MPS-A for sustainable practices. Through the hard work and dedication of our team, the facility was recognized for its sustainable efforts a presentation ceremony during Cultivate'18 in Columbus, Ohio.

Achieving MPS-A means Darwin Colombia explores earth-friendly integrated pest management, such as biological controls, as well as efficient water usage. Darwin Colombia currently uses 90% of its water from rain collection.

In the photo below is Arthij van der Veer (center). He is General Coordinator for North and Central America for MPS, a third-party certifier of sustainable practices for the international flower/ornamental industry. MPS is active in 46 countries, and more than 3,000 gorwers participate in MPS-ABC around the world.

MPS-A is a unique world standard. Congratulations to everyone at Darwin Colombia! Read our full announcement at the Darwin News & Events page.
