Book your Spring Showcase now!

As we are now heading into Summer with a very busy Spring behind us, it makes it hard to think about next Spring already.

But when it comes to perennials there never seems to be much down time. Seasons overlap, propagation season begins before Spring shipping is finished, and planning perennial production is a continuous process that leaves little room for procrastination.

Especially when it comes to the Early Spring Showcase from Darwin Perennials. If you want to get the varieties you want, the numbers you want, and the weeks you want them look no further. Liners are available now through the perennial supply chain. Ship by June 30 for summer bulking to overwinter successfully. If you don’t see the numbers you need, contact your preferred sales rep to get the quantities you need.

Timing is everything to have a successful finish for many of our Early Spring show-stopping varieties. Here are some suggested transplant timings for our key introductions (see below). This is assuming a 72 liner going into a trade gallon container.

Early Spring crop Northern growers Southern Growers
Phlox Candy Cloud™ Week 34 Week 38
Phlox Spring Splash™ Week 30 Week 34
Erysimum Brightside Week 34 Week 38
Saxifraga Marto Week 34 Week 38
Lavender-Spanish Week 32 Week 36
Geranium Purple Glow Week 34 Week 38
Armeria Dreameria Week 32 Week 36

Of course, I am always of the belief that more time is better and equates to more flower power. Just keep in mind that if you do have to do any trimming in the Fall, be sure to allow at least 4 weeks of growing/branching time before dormancy.

So before you go on vacation, hit the beach or go fishing, be sure to get your early Spring Perennial order in. 2026 here we come!
