Fall is here and it’s the perfect moment for us to reflect on the year and some of the events that Darwin Perennials participated in.

We kicked-off Summer with Darwin Perennials Day in The Ball Gardens in West Chicago, Illinois, June 19. This year’s event was especially significant, as we celebrated two milestones: Darwin's 15th anniversary and Darwin Colombia's 10th. It was a bright, sunny day with over 26 vendors, nearly 500 attendees, and 19 stunning garden beds in full bloom. A highlight of the event was the new "Colombia Experience," featuring three video and team interactions that took visitors through the Life of a Cutting. If you missed the event, you can still catch the videos here.

Also new at this year’s event was the "Bouquets for Days" cut flower display showcasing popular perennial varieties that can be added to any cut flower line-up. We also served a delicious lunch with a panel of experts offering “Tips and Tricks on Perennial Production” If you couldn't attend, be sure to mark your calendar for next year’s event, June 18, 2025.

In July, the Darwin team made a big impact at Cultivate, July 13-16, at the Columbus Convention Center in Ohio. Our booth was buzzing with excitement, especially around the debut of the new Agastache Summerlong series. The Agastache Summerlong mixed container even won the Retailers’ Choice Award from the Garden Center Group! Additionally, our dynamic duo product reps, Chris Fifo and Darren Barshaw, hosted an educational session titled "Perennial Inputs: What’s Best for Me?" giving attendees plenty of information to consider in their programs.

August was a whirlwind of activity. The month began with the Perennial Plant Association (PPA) symposium in Asheville, North Carolina, July 29 through August 2. Darwin Perennials and PanAmerican Seed shared a booth, generating significant interest in the Agastache Summerlong Series and PanAmerican Seed’s Lobelia Starship Red. The week was packed with insightful educational sessions, tours and networking opportunities with industry leaders.

We continued our summer tour at the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association (TNLA) event in San Antonio, Texas, August 14-16. It was a record year for new exhibitors and attendance.

Finally, we wrapped up at the Farwest Show, August 21-24, at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Oregon. With over 350 exhibitors serving the nursery and retail garden industry, Darwin Perennials shared a booth with Ball Seed. A special highlight was the Veronica Skyward Lilac, which earned an Award of Merit.
