Trial Results for 2025 New Intros - Get the Guide!

Seth Reed
Sales & Marketing Manager

In order to test our perennials against multiple environments, Darwin Perennials participates in summer university trials, grower showcases, and other display gardens across North America.

This is especially important when we launch brand-new varieties and series because we want our customers to feel confident in what's new and innovative on the market.

For summer 2024, Darwin Perennials took photos and evaluations for next year's introductions at eight locations and we've compiled the results for you in a handy Trial Results Guide. View and download a copy here or take a look at the virtual guide below.

The products tested include:

  • Echinacea Double Scoop Deluxe
  • Echinacea Sombrero Fuchsia Fandango & Mandarin Mambo
  • Agastache Summerlong series
  • Achillea New Vintage Terracotta
  • Buddleia Chrysalis Steel Blue
  • Coreopsis UpTick Gold
  • Delosperma Ocean Sunset Violet Flare
  • Digitalis Arctic Fox Lemon Cream
  • Sedum Shamrock
  • Veronica Skyward Lilac

I just gotta say: Wow! What a phenomenal lineup. Seeing the photos and reading the trial managers' comments really drive home all of the innovation coming from our Darwin Perennials breeding and product teams.

The Trials Locations that provided photos are Metrolina Greenhouses (Huntersville, NC); Penn State (University Park, PA); Raker-Roberta's Young Plants (Litchfield, MI); Smith Gardens (Bellingham, WA); and Young's Plant Farm (Auburn, AL). We've also included photos from our own trial facilities in The Gardens at Ball (West Chicago, IL) and Star Roses and Plants (West Grove, PA).

Keep quick trial guides like this one at your disposal as you plan your programs for next year. There's a search function and other helpful links in the virtual file. And reach out anytime to our product representatives if you have questions or concerns on any of these new introductions.
