MANTS 2023

The Darwin Perennials team attended MANTS (Mid Atlantic Nursery Trade Show) and this was a busy show! The event ran Jan. 11-13 at its homebase at the Baltimore Convention Center. This was my first time attending and I could not believe how many exhibitors there were and how large the show was. Needless to say I was impressed!

Over 11,000 people registered and there were over 1,500 exhibitor booths containing anything from plants, shrubs, trees, heavy machinery, pottery, soil and more. For Darwin Perennials, this is a super important show because many of our perennial suppliers are present along with key contacts in the landscape and retail industry. We were able to reconnect with quite a few friends and meet new faces,  where we talked about what Darwin does best ... and that is breed, produce and distribute quality perennials that offer solutions to the grower, retailer, landscaper and consumer.

So, beyond all the meeting and greeting, our booth looked fantastic with its beautifully lit back drop and many showy plants. We featured Delphinium 'Red Lark' smack in the center and it garnered a lot of attention. (I can’t even count how many people walked by and could not believe how truly red this Delphinium is.) We also showcased Artemisia SunFern Olympia, Lysimachia 'Night Light', and Heuchera 'Carnival Cinnamon Stick', which also generated a lot of interest.

The show was definitely a success for Darwin Perennials and it looks like more than half of this year’s exhibitors are registered for 2024. If you couldn’t make it this year, put it on your list for next year. It was a fantastic way to kick-off 2023's events season. We hope to see you soon in the coming months!
