Congratulations, Cristina Brusco
Darwin Colombia General Manager Cristina Brusco was recently recognized in the “Entrepreneurship Category” at the 2022 ExpoPlantas trade show. Cristina received recognition for her support in the Colombian nursery industry, and for the achievements overall of Darwin Colombia.
“Darwin Colombia is the leading nursery company in the country in the implementation of state-of-the-art technologies, quality, sanitation and in the amount of cuttings exported to the United States, Canada and Europe,” says Cristina. “Additionally, Darwin Colombia is the largest generator of formal rural employment per hectare in Colombia with more than 50 jobs per hectare.”
During the ExpoPlantas trade show, Cristina was invited to speak to attendees, and to share with the nursery industry the advantages of formal employment, sanitation and quality for export purposes. She also discussed the importance of payment of varietal rights and of the practice of sustainable production.
“The objective is to continue to formalize the nursery industry,” Cristina said, “so that more breeding companies are able to sell their products in Colombia.”
