Salvia Blue Marvel has won "Best In Show" for the New Plant Awards, sponsored by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) at this year's HTA National Plant Show in Coventry, UK. The team at Darby Nursery Stock accepted the award during the opening morning of the show.
According to RHS, the New Plant Awards are "the beating heart of the show and create an area bursting with inspiration for the visitors." Judging panel member Jim Gardiner, Executive Vice-President of RHS, said, "Salvia Blue Marvel was for all of us a revelation in breeding... The flower quality and in particular the size of Salvia Blue Marvel was quite exceptional. This plant will see uses far beyond the herbaceous border."
